trends spotted

It falls to the bloggers of the cybersphere  to analyze trends once Fashion week(s) come to an end. How else would I know that I need a pair of black and white checkered shorts and plastic cross-body for summer (trust me) without having done comprehensive research form last season? So now it is time to look even further, to the upcoming fall.

Two thinks that I noticed...

First, since the Balenciaga vintage graphic sweaters from 2 seasons ago everyone is all about ignoring prints to make way for a statement image. I don't think that anyone has achieved it to the level that Balenciaga did nor can capture that same excitement or innovation but one thing is for sure, they changed the game.

Second, straps are for babies! Any purse can become a clutch bag as long as you keep it empty and nestled in the crook of your arm. I get that this it the debut of these bags but why are they so floppy? I sort of hate this trend because A- my arm hurts! I need a bag to do most of the work for me. And B- if I am going to invest in a leather bag (and by "invest in" I mean fantasize about) you better believe I'm getting some structure out of it.

is terrible hair and makeup the new glamorous hair and makeup?

I remember a time when hot rollers were a thing. Are soft and shiny waves a thing of the past?! I surely hope not. Also, I thought that long defined eyelashes were a hallmark of beautiful makeup. Instead should I be focusing on calling attention to my eyes using murky shades eye shadow? Like every aspect of a runway show, styling is so deliberate. How could this look become a trend?
This is not crazy, sexy, cool. These models look a mess.

It's important to note that each photo is from a different show inducing such heavy hitters as Marc Jacobs, Burberry Prorsum, and Prada. Come on guys, get it together.
