Ralph Lauren did something that I forgot was easy for them to do. They made a beautiful, luxury, opulent, lust-worthy dress. Note all of the gratuitous hats in the background. This dress held it's own, such a treat.

This Rag and Bone look is everything I never knew I every wanted. Kelly green? No one asked for that. And yet it's all I want to wear. These motorcycleish, tuxedoish pants are, for lack of precedent, dope. Also I've never met an origami oxford tunic that I didn't like.

Helmut Lang you sneaky bitch! Every season something seems reinvented to me. This season it was a printed pant suit. Sheer and flowy on the bottom, opaque and stiff on the top. Also since when did Helmut Lang have any business messing with a floral print in the first place? Not that I mind.

I think that this Donna Karen would have fit better in to the context for last year's Spring shows much better. Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Versace all did this color pallet. But even still this dress stands out as new. Take that jacket and hot pink mascara away and I'm not sure what would happen. I might not be so keen on this sea siren if she wasn't business casual.

Narciso Rodriguez did some great things with shapes this Spring. There where a lot of ideas in this collection and it read like story. Designers talk a lot about "their point of view". Often times it feels like theme overcompensates or overshadows design aesthetic. Narciso Rodriguez didn't rely on a theme. There were subtly to his clothes. A bit of androgyny mixed with fall-off-the-body sexiness made the clothes strong and able to speak for themselves.

Patricia Field is probably wishing she had a time machine to take the entire Diane von Furstenberg collection back to the filming of the second Sex and the City movie. Travel was the theme this season. It was more about the journey than the destination, the act of being somewhere new. This jumpsuit made perfect sense. It pretty, unexpected, flattering and sharp. A quick shout out to the Google glasses...and the look becomes even more luxury.

Every season there is a look that I see and think, "I could spend the rest of my life in that". This season it was Badgley Mischka's bedazzled sweatpants. I saw these and melted into Carrie Bradshaw, unpractical sleepwear heaven. I like Badgley Mischka for gowns and glamor but I love them for casual street style.

I can't really say why in particular that I love this Thakoon dress. I think that it was the whole cage inspiration that this collection was selling what I loved most. I think it's creepy and awesome how the model's collar bones, protruding from her in all their fragile bird like glory, look like they are holding up the dress/cage. The print is fantastic, it's sad and whimsical at the same time.

Zach Posen is pretty much a giant life riuner with this gown. You can't do this to the women of the world! Dangle this avant garde beauty in front of our face, have it walk in the light for less than 3 minutes and then poof! it's gone. I don't want to live in a world where I know that this dress in sitting in the dark, being unworn. If it were up to me this gown would "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" it's way around the world. Giving every woman a chance to wear that much tulle.

Now my number one is a controversial choice. This Rodarte collection premiered to lackluster reviews and fell below most expectations. But what does anyone know? It was by far my favorite show of the week. And this look killed me. The collection took inspiration off Dungeon and Dragons and other role playing nerd games. Dragons! The girls were made up to look like elfin super heroes with soft fabric shields. The lines of the dresses were evocative of a Renascence faire with hips getting their fair share of attention. They wore the most bad ass laser disk, hologram shoes that looked about ready to transform into Optimus Prime on the runway. The best part of this collection was that the inspiration was fantasy as a whole. It wasn't exclusivity fairy tales, or knights of the round table, or si-fi soldiers, or time travelers. It was the entire cannon married into on escapist dream.
