I thought that after Rodarte gave up their collaboration with Nicholas Kirkwood there would be a big void in the label's collection. Last spring didn't do much for me but this past show was pretty thrilling (south-side, that is). I can't even believe some of the creativity and inspiration with these shoes. How awesome the heels with the sand art? Nostalgia for days! Wacky Indiana Jones-ish switch blade accents definitely toughen up the soft leather. And then there is some tromp loiel, bootie, mary jane-ish action that is making me very happy and jealous of Chloe Mortez, the Fanning sisters, and Hailee Steinfeld because you KNOW they are getting these expedited to their feet asap.
